nate laurence - live mix for aukland radio - sept 2009 [fmh][Listen]
here is a taste of radio mix that nate laurence did for a radio station in new zealand late last year. as one of our favorites here at fmh we are again happy to be providing you with some fresh funky beats for your ride up to the ski hill or for chillin at apres ski. now, enjoy.
over the years we have listened to our fair share of great house tracks. without a doubt, jt has been as consistent with his productions as anyone. here is a live litte diddy [sans trackist] that we're sure you'll really enjoy that was recorded earlier this year at the underground in toronto. [or tdot as we like to call it...] we're sure you'll enjoy this bumpin set and hopefully it will help you get through the long stretch of winter.
clint mezz - the situation (december 2009) [fmh][Listen]
this is a fantastic mix from a long time friend of the fmh family and local calgary dj. we've had this one cranked in the car, the office and on the ipods ever since it came out and there is very good reason for this... mezz throws it down! we don't have a tracklist for this one yet but if you're in western canada and get the deets, be sure to come out to his highly anticipated debut show and hear him for yourself.
dj ms peggy - this is what groove is about [fmh][Listen]
hailing from dijon france and destroying local dance floors, is our next featured guest: dj peggy. this lady has been bringing the funky-jack to our francophone friends across the pond for over ten years. as you will hear from this excellent mixtape, peggy would no doubt feel right at home playing to crowds in chicago or san francisco. with an excellent blend of jazz, latin, groove and jackin' chicago styles we're certain all you long time fmh fans out there will really like this one. we will be watching peggy’s ascent in the french dj community knowing full well she’s representing the funk and doing it with style and class. if you like what you hear, be sure to check out her soundcloud page for previous mixtapes. enjoy!
deejay michelle c - get in my kitchen [fmh][Listen]
we are pleased to be presenting for the first time a very talented local dj and personal friend of the fmh crew: dj michelle c. usually known for heavy funky whomping bass lines and vivacious beats, michelle has an incredibly diversified portfolio of jams in her record bag. spanning everything from drum and bass and dubstep to electro and deep house, it is evident that she has an talent for spinning every type of music imaginable. fmh resident dj swea had the opportunity to share the decks with michelle earlier this month and as you will hear in this delectable selection of funky traxx, this lady definitely has an ear for what gets people moving. best to download this mixtape and keep your attenuators cranked to eleven. enjoy!
long-time friend and fellow calgary/halifax club dj, A-Mac is here with his newly released mix and we're very pleased to finally have him on fmh! this guy's musical influences and dj style are as diverse as one can possibly imagine. if you get the opportunity to see him live you'll witness seamless transition between house, hip hop, funk, disco and hardly notice as he casually stirs the crowd into a mild frenzy. this particular mix starts off with an epic throwback to funky electro with great sax and synth combos that set the tone for serious headboppin' throughout the remaining 50 minutes of the set. all of us here at fmh are certain you'll enjoy this mixtape, and when you get the chance, be sure sure to stop by A-Mac's soundcloud page to leave him a shout. click here to download the album cover. now enjoy!
